OUR MISSION STATEMENT
TO PROVIDE A PRAYERFUL VOICE, ATTENTIVE TO THE SPIRIT, THROUGH WHICH THE FAITHFUL CAN ACTIVELY PARTICIPATE IN THE GOVERNANCE AND GUIDANCE OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH.
We work towards achieving our mission by pursuing three goals:

Dear Friends,

VOTF recently released the results of a study that reveals a wide disparity in online financial transparency for U.S. Roman Catholic dioceses. The study was conducted by the Finance Working Group of Voice of the Faithful and was sent to all U.S. bishops, the papal nuncio, and other officials.

The Working Group's review of all 177 U.S. diocesan websites shows a level of openness well below what could be reasonably expected of an organization anywhere near the size of the U.S. Catholic Church. Overall scores ranged from 59-10 out of a possible 60, with the Diocese of Wilmington scoring 40.

You can review the report here http://www.votf.org/VOTFDiocesesFinancialTranspar encyReport1117.pdf
and use the tools available from VOTF's Financial Accountability page http://votf.org/node/1587
to assess the information each diocese posts.

Just a reminder that Coastal Delmarva VOTF will meet tomorrow evening, November 14 at 7 p.m. in Delaney Hall at St. Ann's.

Please join us as we continue our discussion of National VOTF's Initiatives for Church Reform. We'll be considering the results of the surveys you completed in September prioritizing those projects for action by our affiliate.

Other items on the agenda include an update on "The Journey," St. Ann's upcoming Evangelization

program, and a review of National VOTF's "Report Ranking U.S. Diocesan Online Financial Transparency."

We look forward to seeing you then! Bring a friend!

Keep the Faith, Change the Church!
